Hand brake light stays on intermittently on hill descent
Was doing an offroad track that was up and down fairly steep slopes and the trail was about 1 hour, so there was fair use of the foot brake and engine braking. Some descents on low range 2nd gear drags the rev up to 3k. There was some point when the handbrake light lighted up. Is it the brake overheating or is it the engine braking?

I tried engaging and releasing the handbrake but it has no effect. I went away
When I roll it along without much engine brake or footbrake.

By the way I am on 110xs puma 2.2.

I believe the dashboard light comes on for 2 reasons:-
1. Handbrake ON.
2. Hydraulic brake fluid level LOW.

Have you checked the fluid level. With footbrakes on and steep descent the level may be such that it is just enough to trigger the fluid level sensor. Thumbs Up LANDYWATCH

I would check the brake pads first...might be worn, and causes the brake fluid level to drop...
If the brake pads are not worn then it could be brake fluid level...
Or it could be a handbrake switch failure Regards

I had this issue and mentioned it in a previous thread on a new 110 DCPU XS.

The solenoid switch in the handbrake turned out to be faulty, so every time I went down a hill the light came on and flickered like a Censored .

The stealers replaced the solenoid switch and the issue went away. You may be fobbed off by being told the switch is not correctly aligned. They are so cheap and require abit of faffing with the hand brake gator off, they might aswell just replace it rather the potential of 2 visits Rolling Eyes
