I believe the dashboard light comes on for 2 reasons:-
1. Handbrake ON. 2. Hydraulic brake fluid level LOW. Have you checked the fluid level. With footbrakes on and steep descent the level may be such that it is just enough to trigger the fluid level sensor. I would check the brake pads first...might be worn, and causes the brake fluid level to drop...
If the brake pads are not worn then it could be brake fluid level... Or it could be a handbrake switch failure Regards Joao '10 Land Rover Defender 110 CC '08 BMW F800GS '64 SIIA Forward Control '69 SIIA 109 ZA CKD _____________________________________________ You have the right to remain silent. I had this issue and mentioned it in a previous thread on a new 110 DCPU XS.
The solenoid switch in the handbrake turned out to be faulty, so every time I went down a hill the light came on and flickered like a . The stealers replaced the solenoid switch and the issue went away. You may be fobbed off by being told the switch is not correctly aligned. They are so cheap and require abit of faffing with the hand brake gator off, they might aswell just replace it rather the potential of 2 visits |
