Bought some expensive door handle thingies to bolt to the chassis Wink Laughing. Just got to get some bolts long enough now.

Had a play with the r/h front pads. So far so good, but it looks like it was pad rattle after all causing the knocking/rattle. Well, at least that's one less rattle/clunk Laughing.

Cleaned all the crud off the steering box and dried it off. I hope the "gloop" at the bottom isn't the start of a leak from it.

Measured the box section above the rear wheels.

Disconnected and reconnected the steering damper.

Nice pic, nice spot Thumbs Up Despite the forecast our sailing rally is going ahead, some have been sailing up from Poole last 3 days to get to Chi Harbour Shocked I bet they wish they were in a RIB, could have been tucked up in a hotel 2 days ago Laughing

What did I do with mine, well yesterday? Apart from the school run, it got used in its toolbox capacity. A mate came round yesterday evening for me to replace a UJ on his Disco. He's worked in farming for the past 20years and never replaced a UJ, nor my neighbour who has been around motors all his life. So last night we had a masterclass in UJ replacement in my cramped garage. All was well untill the last nut on the transfer box flange where the bolt had been knocked by the knackered yoke. At least the 4" grinder with a new cutting disc could just about reach it.
Now today, where I'd scaped my knuckles on the underside of his motor, there is a little bit of infection in the cuts Rolling Eyes It did stink under there, apart from him working on a farm his main job is looking after a waste digester and the amount of carp that he drives through and the roadkill he tries to create it's not surprising that it's a health hazard Shocked

Well not today but yesterday went to Wickes and bought some 9ft lengths of wood which went on my roof bars and used these: http://www.flatdoguk.com/cam-buckle-cargo-strap~406 Straps. Can't recommend them enough UK made brilliant price and holds tight as hell! Far better than anything from Thule I've had both. Well worth the money! Thumbs Up

450 Kgs breaking strain, I wonder if that is just on the webbing or includes the pin that holds it to the camlock ?
