No worries Clayton. It usually kicks off around September. I am on their email list.
On the flip side to this, I said to Sulisuli that I would try (again if the dates work) to get across to a South West meet this year. Would have liked to have done the last one, but Mrs Rashers was not well so I had to pass. |

Replaced the battery and changed the wiper blades for winter proper. The BBUS kept sounding on starting and I thought it might solve a sticking door lock actuator (which it didn’t). Was still on the original (6 yrs old) in a daily driver, so not too bad. Put in one of those Yuasa HSB019s.

Decided to replace the flat top cubby box with a Britpart Cubby box with a thicker top armrest lid. The Britpart box arrived and was of good build quality with the exception of what can only be described as cheap brass plated hinges and stay from the local DIY store!. End result was, I just swapped the thicker arm rest lid onto my OE cubby box.

Replaced old, scuffed headlights with Wipac crystal ones with stainless steel bezel. Makes the front end much neater, Used existing bulbs and overall very easy to do

In line with my technical skills, I carefully peeled the backing off the sticky back plastic and stuck the Mud vanity mirror into position. It’s only taken me 3 months to get around to it. I took the 110 off to Worcester this morning and watched my son play rugby, sadly the game was called off after 20 mins when one of the opposition was injured and an ambulance was called. After an hour and a half the ambulance still hadn’t arrived- the hospital is 3 miles as the crow flies. Just shows the pressure the system is under.

Replaced the battery before it gets too cold. Put in a Yuasa HSB019s much like Doc P. The old battery did very well as the original on an 07 plate(!) still had the radio code stuck to the side of it, even though that has long since been swapped out!
I'm hoping that as the old battery isn't dead yet, it should encourage me to fit the split charge system that is sharing the corner of the garage with all the other 'to do' jobs. |

Went camping in High Wycombe, which was actually very pleasant. That said, Google predicted a 5% chance of rain the whole day. I should have asked them to make me some odds because it poured until 9pm. On the plus side, the defender proved its worth yet again, towing both onto and off-of the site. Using 1st gear LR just above idle it performed brilliantly. One thing that has been reinforced is the need for a roof-top tent at some point in the near future. There's something deeply appealing about not having to crawl into a gopping tent on waterlogged ground!
The 54" light bar also came into its own. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge If anyone is interested in the insane camper - it's a Japanese Import Isuzu. It tells you it's turning very politely in Japanese if you put on the indicator! |

I made my first Optimill purchase last weekend , an irresistible show offer . It’s the rear number plate light with reversing camera .
Wired it up to my Pioneer screen and then to the reverse light and hey presto . Great bit of kit and picture quality is superb . Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/ |
