To be of much use you really need at least one side wall. We had something similar on our caravan and have one for the Defender. It's OK if the sun is directly above and behind you using the vehicle as a side wall, but even then you have quite a small patch providing shade and you have to keeping moving into it every 20 mins anyway. See LRMikes previous picture! Low evening sun is a pain as you have to cram into a little shady spot about 5 miles from your vehicle You need a side wall!!
Cheaper options are Tent extensions for £99 http://www.skcamping.com/products/listings...moss-2011/ which have side walls, windows, zip up fronts etc and are big OR large dome shades for about £40+ They BOTH can fix to the side or end of you LR Both quick and easy to put up, withstand the weather well, give good shade and are a lot cheaper. Big Fogs - 4m long Coleman Tent Awning for £30 Argos Click image to enlarge Another option is go to your local Army supplies outlet and pick up some tarp or camo netting, couple of poles and guy ropes and you have the same for well under £100 instead of paying £360 + Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Yeah, I will be getting some sides, in fact, you can get a "room" to fit in there and actually camp too.
However, for next week it'll only be used for an hour each time, so as long as it's parked correct shouldn't be an issue. I did look at making my own, but this one is less hassle to put up and it all folds away quite nice. Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

Apart from towing a Transit pick up last December for about 20 yards in the snow, today I did my first real towing. It was a tow a van trailer and it was for the Scouts for their Summer camp and obviously it was full of camping stuff. Probably a ton & half at a guess.
It was either I do it or a bloke with a L200, and we couldn't allow that could we ! Chris. http://shropshirelandrovers.freeforums.org 2015 Defender 90 XS SW & Helen, 1964 IIa. Picked mine up from Yeovil LR.
Pimple of raised paint on o/s rear door was rust, all taken back to metal, treated and sprayed, windscreen frame resprayed, passenger door still not a happy bunny, they think the door skin has become detached so going back in for further investigation along with flaking paint on the gutter that was not done. Passenger footwell leak eventually traced to the windscreen never being sealed in. They have now sealed it so fingers crossed. And the real bummer ????, having said they were only going to replace the side step brackets they have, in fact, replaced the complete assembly. These are coming off and my Fire and Ice ones going on. Brand new set of 110 side steps and brackets anyone ? I must say that I am glad to have it back after a week in the FL2. Bob |

Washed the car again as the people at the car wash got fed up after spending over an hour and not being able to wash the mud, algae and whatever else was stuck on the underside after a stupid turn i took yesterday.

Went bouncing around the countryside chasing after my IIA that some lowlife had stolen off the drive, thankfully we did find it eventually, abandoned, lucky no theiving scumbag hanging around to "fall over" or "walk into a lamppost". Its been taken with SOCO now to be fingerprinted etc, 110 is filthy after blasting across the tracks etc checking out hiding places. 2011 110 USW
