Finally finished stitching in the last strip of Velcro today and so got my exmoor trim carpet fitted into the rear of my 90. I also put down 2mm silent coat first so I'm looking forward to hearing the difference.

looks real smart but suspect it wouldn't be practical with our dogs - one of which sheds hair like there is no tomorrow after even a short trip............ Laughing

More progress on the heater install;
Extended the wiring for the fuel pump.
Fixed the fuel leak into the heater.
Test run of the heater and it makes some warm air ok!

Just ordered a 2 & 6 way Tyco connector to bring all the wires together into a controlled manner rather than a soldering or choccy block connectors.

Is it possible to control the output fan speed?

Next will be sort out the wiring runs for the fuel pump and the control panel.
Then onto sorting a more secure location for the heat outlet - currently bobbing around like a lose Censored in the wind & sorting a mounting/securing bracket for the exhaust - currently cable tied to the body mount.
Final, an on/off switch on the dash for the heater. 1999 Defender TD5 110

They are A4-80 which I thought suitable for this task? Please tell me this doesn't mean I need to get the blow torch out again for the copious amount of threadlocker I used yesterday!

In that case I'd replace them as soon as possible with grade 10.9 or higher HT bolts. There are two major problems with A4-80 in this application; firstly they lack the tensile strength and ductility of the originals, meaning they are far more likely to shear, and secondly unless you used an anti-seize paste such as Weicon they are likely to cold weld themselves into the hub. Neither eventuality is good.

Worst case may be that you already cannot remove them, I'm afraid. I have before now had an A4 screw weld itself into a nut before it was even tight. Horrible things, stainless fasteners! Personally I avoid them like the plague unless essential, and then use copious amounts of Weicon.

Changed them out today for 12.9 HT referenced in another thread you’d contributed to Blackwolf. Thanks for the advice - the A4-80s came out without too much trouble. Whilst I was at it I gave the hub centres a wee top coat, giving my new jack and axle stands a run out at the same time.

We had the weekend with the landrover charity group tours of Somerset and Dorset, where we met up with over 40 vehicles and their numerous occupants for a 10 day camping tour around the 2 counties.
This year we had trips out to Bovingdon tank museum, salisbury plains and Honiton Hill Rally, and a great time was had by all !!

The camping was in 3 locations over the time and the weather was awesome! (and impressive rainstorms for a couple of nights!)
lovely people with lots of fun, comrade and sitting round the camp fire at night.
The group raise money for smaller local charities and run small events all round the year, with a John o’Graots to Lands end run planed next year and a landrover show in Ashton Devon next May ..

Yesterday, the 110 returned from the bodyshop having had the screen frame replaced under warranty. A very long 5 days, and a time where the 110 was needed to perform "work". Thankfully LR Customer Services have covered the cost of a rental van.

That said I'm waiting on a call back from the bodyshop now to resolve the issues they've caused fixing the initial problem Rolling Eyes 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

Looking really nice there AJC Bow down

What did you use to seal the glass please Question

I will be giving Millie a good clean inside and out, a week Friday weather permitting for our trip up north Wink

The best stuff to use is Gtechniq Glass sealant, it will last 18 months if you don't use strong cleaning products like TFR etc

Traffic film remover, dreadful stuff, it does more harm than good, ruins car wax, it’s what the commercial handwash places pump spray on a car before they wash it, makes me breakout in a cold sweat. Don’t ever use it on Optimill products you will ruin them Thumbs Up 2015 HT XS 90
