iI do prefer to get in mine and use it, I can't be with all this polishing and tittivating. It doesn't make it go any faster

Even if you do it’ll be back to square one in no time anyway. I like to keep exterior paint work up together to keep it in good condition rather than to look sparkly blingy clean. The trouble is the dirt and grime can hide nasty little bits if corrosion etc if not careful at times.

I lost the fight to keep the paintwork tidy before I bought it, the previous owner was Thames Valley Police and their many "drivers" were not too carefull. Then there is the life it leads now as my everyday motor and works vehicle there is very little chance of it lasting more than a couple of hours before it gets dirty, soul destroying if I was too worried plus the odd body blemish I've added to it over the years greenlaning and at the odd pay and play sites have just increased its "patina"

Productive day today: Fitted silent coat in the front, fixed a dodgy connection on the interior light while I was at it. Also fitted a new take off bumper as mine was starting to rust. The old one is available for free if anyone wants it to tart up and repaint?

Tightened wing mirror screws on passenger door. Had to get wife to put bolts on (didn't take door inner panel off) so small hands required

Nice. I got a snow alert and checked the webcams.
What do you think of the dampers? They transformed the ride for me. Along with a rear anti roll bar probably the best mod I have done. |

Really nice Zed, really pleased. Don’t think I’m going to play with the springs for the mo, instead get the updated ARB you mention, plus Sumo bars, radius/trailing arms etc. Remap as well. Want to really make the transmission as tight and responsive as possible. I’m going to be doing far, far more KMs in my new job, and lots will be twisty mountain roads. But the B6s are already a marked improvement as were the UJs which have noticeably tightened up the drive. ![]() I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Good stuff. Springs are very subjective. Most seem to recommend Alive etc. which I went for but didn't get on with and quickly changed back to genuine. i thought they were OK with an empty truck but not as good as genuine either with passengers, loaded or towing etc.
Did you also fit the Bilstein steering damper? I didn't notice any difference with it myself but others seem to like. Nice mods you have planned. Knowing the type of roads you drive I would suggest a remap, intercooler and turbo should be next on your list. |
