Ray, that tow hook rule here indeed is nuts. But then this country has great rules too. Like for instance the rule that all cars with Euro 4 exhaust gas norms or higher, so including our Puma 2.4 engines, are waived from the periodic exhaust gas controls at the bi-annual tech inspection (your MOT). So you don’t have inspectors overrevving our Tdci Diesel engines with no load. I’m sometimes hearing of accidents with those exhaust gas tests in other countries. So everything balances out, and I think we stay put here.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Today was the day to change from winter mud tyres and wolf wheels back to At's and Boost's for the summer

Click image to enlarge Moving our other vehicle to its new home last weekend, in the pouring rain....should have waited for the sunshine this weekend...darn it. Never mind had loads of friendly waves from Landy and VW owners for the journey and the ol' girl performed very well |

Awesome stuff! Looking to do the same this summer so any extra pics of the process/tips would be great. I'm assuming it's a case of carefully going round disconnecting bits until the two parts are ready to separate? Matt.

Pretty much yes, around a dozen fixing points with various types of bolts/fixings. Plus loads of pipes/wires to sort as well.
There’s a detailed thread over on LR4x4 with more pics and details of the process so far. |

Umm, just beetles around with the right pass in the vehicle. We used to live down that way and have friends who help with fence judging etc. Just a bit of fun. The stewards only got upset when the kids were riding on the outside of the 110. 🤫

Said goodbye to my 90 today, which is off to pastures new. It's been a fun vehicle to own, although I spent much more time and money on it than I ever intended Drove it for the last time this afternoon, for the first time in a couple of weeks, and it felt like a go kart compared to my 110.
Click image to enlarge I then spent a good part of the day cleaning and prepping my 110 and my wifes' D4 as we're taking part in a Surrey 4x4 Response display at the Emergency Services day at Brooklands tomorrow. Removed the fume curtain from the soft-top Ninety and rolled up the rear canvas, as Winter is supposed to be over now.
If it rains from now to November, you'll know who to blame....... |
