Good for you Sulisuli and all others who have been helping. The local hospital put a call out this morning for drivers I've tried calling to help but can't get through. James

Over the last 24 hrs we have been on 4x4 response duties in cornwall as we had to deal with the ‘red’ warning - WE have driven nurses to and from work, collect relatives of very ill patients etc ... been a long day but the 110 has been awesome ... however the cab heater gets a gold star!!!
Have wing mirror envy of my partners D4 as my mirrors never defrosted all day and had to have the ice chipped off a few timed over night and during the day! I am surprised on how good the general grabbers were in the snow and never missed a step even when driving up 20% roads of sheer ice with hairpin bends. - I generally prefer BFG’s but have been impressed! Well done to all the team members of DC4x4 who had to help with some of the worse conditions on Hadden hill and the A30, and to the controllers who kept things moving Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html Elgar -TDCI(Puma) 110XS Dormobile - now sold Devon & Cornwall 4x4 Response - DC126 |

Had to smile to myself when I uploaded some pictures my boy had taken, this was one just before we left Hereford Hospital after dropping a nurse off this morning for Herefordshire 4x4 Response. The only identifying mark on the back is from here

I'm afraid I can't compete with the awesome efforts of the 4x4 Response people on here, but I was working from home and was needed to assist pulling out a poor white van man, I think delivering parcels, who had got stuck on a hill...

Did the last transporting of a nurse home first thing this morning and have then spent 4hrs washing the Defender including all of the chassis nooks and crannies firstly with a pressure washer then with the hozelock lawn sprayer that I connected via a 12 volt pump to a spare battery to up the water pressure, well chuffed with the results
Defender can sit on the driveway again now for a while until the rain washes all the salt off the roads. Just want to say a big thankyou to all the emergency services, armed forces, brilliant NHS staff and ordinary people who all helped out, makes you proud to be British. 2015 HT XS 90 2008 SVX 90 2000 XS TD5 90 |

Took a drive over to Hawes to take the kids sledging. Found a lot of snow drifts from the heavy winds but not a major amount.
Got her home and it’s. Little salty so just put hosepipe next to heater in the garage so I can wash it tomorrow. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Drove it into the garage without having to deflate tyres...new garage door fitted which created the extra few inches of headroom clearance. Should be able to sleep bit better at night knowing better secured.
