Well gearbox out yesterday and the problem showed itself immediately, the centre of the clutch was on the floor, it had ripped out of the friction plate
Click image to enlarge Bit of a seeing as the cover plate had this as a date stamp! Click image to enlarge Still, we live and learn, it might have been damaged when I put it together on Monday, the previous owner may have been rough taking it apart but break it did. I sent youngest son off on the bike back to where we did the engine swop, only a couple of miles away just forget the hills, with some spanners and he came back with my original cover plate and friction disc. When I bought my 110 it came via auction and was ex Thames Valley Police and a service history printout was included with the paperwork, no mention of a clutch change but the cover plate was dated February 2006 so going by the MoT history it's done roughly 150K miles. The friction plate looked no different to the "new" one that broke, the only signs of wear was the fingers on the cover plate where the thrust bearing meets, they are easily half worn through so I have used the old friction plate inside the new cover and dual mass flywheel, road tested it this evening and all seems fine, just need to adjust the pedal travel with the adjusting rod in the top of the MasterCylinder box and all should be good |

I completed a BORDA certified winching course at an off road site in Kent, which was great fun.
My 90 isn't fitted with a winch but it does have a nice pin hitch in the front, which makes it ideal as a demo dead weight: Click image to enlarge This is where it started off from: Click image to enlarge It's the first time I've taken my 90 off road and it performed faultlessly despite its' less than inspiring 7.50 x16 Avon Rangemasters. So did you pass the whole BORDA certified winching course or just the 'dead weight' bit? Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

Did an early morning run for the Response Group taking a Trauma Nurse into work, dragged a 44 tonner off the Starting Gate Roundabout on the A49 out of Hereford so traffic could move northbound, sorted out the pony and went to go home my normal way along some narrow lanes and ended up like this
Click image to enlarge Must have been impressive from the outside Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Did do the sensible thing and clean it off after I had got through, no bother, just couldn't see most of the time with it going up and over the roof Click image to enlarge |

Put the BFG A/T on earlier in the week in anticipation so I could use the DCPU to get to & from work now we actually have some snow down here.
Click image to enlarge Incidentally, just had to take one of the dogs to the vets so rather than chuck him in the back of the dirty 110 I used the FL2 on Yokohama AT tyres & seriously unimpressed with it! T/C chattering away & actually failed to get up a slight incline on packed snow due to loss of momentum - had to reverse down & take a run |

Not quite as impressive as above but my village has 4 ways in and they were all blocked this morning by 3 foot snow drifts. I've dragged 4 cars and my friend in his new v6 diesel Amarok who ran out of talent and beached it.
