Decided to up the capacity and security on the USW by fitting a Mud Under tray. All arrived well packed with clear instructions. It went together with no issues. The instructions mentioned there may be an issue with the Rivnuts holding in the factory fitted box and sure enough one was spinning. Also I had to change one of the bolts which holds in the seat box. Not mentioned in the instructions but was in the way and had to be swapped for a shorter bolt. All in all quite pleased with the outcome Thumbs Up

Not a side step in sight on the whole fleet. They wouldn't last five minutes in the ruts on some of the tracks. Darren

Last time I was at Eastnor we drove past the barns where they do the maintenance and cleaning. The instructor asked me to stop and just have a peek inside - the place was full of plastic bumpers, side trims, alloy wheels - all broken or damaged.

I asked what cars they were off - "oh everything from Evoques to full-size Range Rovers".

"What about Defenders - what gets damaged on them?" I asked. The instructor scratched his chin for a while and then said "we broke a rear half-shaft about five or six years ago, I think.". Dave

Heh, heh, I think attrition is taking it's toll now, unfortunately. They used to change them every six months but the ones on fleet now are two years old. They used to have six but are now down to three, and one of them was broken. The instructors are fearful of somebody coming down from Solihull and saying 'what are they still doing here? We don't make them anymore so get rid of them.'

Our instructor yesterday also told us that he'd seen the new one being tested, albeit heavily disguised as a different model. They were testing the E Pace Jag there on Friday Shocked Darren

Topped up the washer bottle with winter-grade -65C stuff. It's becoming a tradition when the clocks go back... Dave

I did my good deed for the day in my defender Razz

This poor chap had shot a lightweight temporary trench cover out when his rear wheels hit it and ended in the ditch.

Good inspection and photo's followed by a gentle tug out with the 300Tdi. More Inspection and one happy chappy is on his way home.

Sorry no photo's of the actual pulling part as I didn't have someone to take them and my front end may have been on the opposite pavement trying to get as straight a pull as possible. Rolling Eyes 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

Clearly a popular photo point.

I have over 110 pictures from the last few days. I've tried uploading them but the album fails so I gave up
