Cornwall are the same re trailers, anything over 6ft long requires a permit and you can only use it 12 times a year. My Ifor Williams is 6'6"!
Still, 9 times out of 10 they don't ask for the permit so I've managed ok, so far 👍 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black. |

Nothing. It's still at the dealers. 1 week and counting.
What I thought was an intercooler hose turns out not to be. The dealership seem to think they need to take the head off and send it to be assessed. I'm sure it's a hose. They say they have pressurised the induction system and it showed a leak through the crank case breather. Then they smoke tested it and it again showed through the breather. Their solution is to take the head off. Needless to say I argued the toss over the £1750 pounds I would be liable for if THEY misdiagnosed a head problem. I cannot get through to the dealership service team as they are short staffed so I only talk to extended warranty now. They are sending a tech to asses it next week. Out of interest who on here would take 14 hours to take a head off replace a gasket and put it back on in a fully equipped workshop. I know I could have it done much quicker. Rant over I am trying to keep my frustrations with the dealership hidden until this is resolved as I do want the car back in one piece. |

First thing, took the v8 to the shoot and somebody applied some kind of parking rule and stuck a D5 next to me. She ugly.

I bet they got out of the D5 and looked at the Defender as they walked away. Would look back at a D5. Vile looker 1951 80" S1 2.0

Big day today - first drive on the road in my Landy.
Thoroughly enjoyed it despite being a difficult drive. It's a world apart from my instructor's 65 plate Fiesta! The steering is vague, the gearbox is clunky and above all its slow... very slow . But I still loved every minute and of course I'll get used to its little quirks. Took her to the beach at Fraisthorpe, near Bridlington. Click image to enlarge Matt. Helped drop my dads Gearbox out of the 200Tdi, The clutch bearing is cooked! the amount of heat that's been going through has cracked the clutch plate and warped the clutch friction plate.
We think my dad hasn't adjusted the clutch pedal properly or at all, which has caused this failure. With him towing the caravan that's been the final nail in the coffin. Also my mate came around to work on my defenders door, fixing the cracked frame and welding a plate to add strength to the wiper area. It will look rough but you will not see it with the wheel, been in the way. Also we found the wiper motor has had it sadly. So now its just a matter of buying now for the door. IMHO a front on shot would've done your work better justice, but that looks like a very neat install to me. Nice work, Pickles. |
