Hazard Switch
So can't really take the credit here. Since installing the double din unit and working on the custom cubby I have been in a dilemma as to what to do with the relocated switches as did not want the side panel.

One of those issues has been rectified this evening.

To the rescue fellow member PaulMc

I had the idea to use a D2 switch in a standard slot... but not the acumen (as often the way)

Paul not only made up the loom but has adapted the standard D2 switch to be both illuminated with the dash lights and flash when the hazards are active.

This required a custom triple relay bank, loom, adapter plugs and LED modification to the switch (or to me ...magic).

The kit looked so impressive it seems a shame to hide it away.

The finished effect is very original in my opinion and the operation brings it right up to the ... 20th century.

Once again, all thanks to PaulMc.

With Hazards on (difficult to time the image, switch flash is very effective.

thanks and Hi Pickles
it is a 2.25 it has a ported head, twin 1.5 su's on a modified manifold a tubular exhaust manifold and straight through 2.25 inch bore exhaust. it retains the standard cam but revs up very quickly and sounds not surprisingly much like an MGB. It has RR diffs so is a bit higher geared than standard. it does now drive and in its current state feels quite quick and is a lot quicker than my 2.4 (had a bit of a drag race and it minced mine) but there is a lot of bodywork etc still to fit. more photos in my other thread,.It has a galve chassis and rebuilt everything else , obviously not for purists but the electrics have been split with more fuses and relays, brake system and heating are also upgraded, he is aiming to make it an everyday use car and is being built with that in mind, the body work is likely to retain its tired patina when refitted although the underside of the tub, seat boxes and bulk head have all been rebuilt.

The idea is to take this set up off the Defender

and transfer it to the trailer. The awning is 10'x6' and can accommodate 2 camp beds, 3 at a push, which get folded up for daytime use. Now with the trailer I will have a detachable panel on the front which will double up as a solid platform in the roofrack but enable the fitting of the 10' length of the awning. A flap door cut in the side of the Ifor will give access from the awning for cooking etc in the dry.
This is for weekend camping at shows and events but I don't want to completely tie the tray up just as a camping trailer, a removable raised above the wheelarches will provide extra "bed" space.
Hoping to try it out at Convoy4Heroes in a few weeks time.

Finally got the broken aerial replaced so the radio works well (even if you can hear it so well atm). New rear speakers/pods fitted and new loom run from the engine bay to the rear of the radio. Just need to go and collect my crimper so I can finish the connectors and that will be another job ticked off the list. 2003 Defender TD5 Hardtop (current - work in progress)

Well again it's proved that Land Rovers are like women, I wanted to fit my spare alternator to Jas as the one currently has a habit of playing up and only giving out 24v. Obviously jas is jealous of all the work I have been doing for Maggie as it was a fight from start to finish! As I was tinkering I thought it would go round and grease the props/ball joints, first stop no2 ball joint with only half a boot.... Guess that's another job to do Rolling Eyes 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html
