Above picture seems to show the wrong indicator position. Defenders should have indicator at the outside. Easy to swap over as below. Click image to enlarge Eric You never actually own a Defender. A card? I don't do Valentine cards. But intrigued by this expression which is beyond my level of English, I went googling it and found this explanation here... "You're a card" means you are the key to a solution". I can live with that. Correct position for a Defender indicator is as in below picture, the outside. For the SVX, the ICE, RAW, Adventure, Autobiography, etc. Solihull decided to move the indicators to the inside for cosmetic reasons as they found the filament bulb indicator lamp did not look right at the outside in combination with the rear/stop and the reverse and rear fog lights which are all LED, so they just put the rear fog and the reverse at the outside, leaving the LEDs in a vertical line. When replacing the indicators by LED as we did, it looks better when you put them in the correct (meaning the standard) outside position of all other Defenders. And, finally good to see that at the other side of the North Sea there is at least one Defender with the steering wheel on the correct side.
But, ..... for that huge A-plan sticker in the window you probably would be fined here as it would be seen as blocking too much of driver's view. Eric You never actually own a Defender. Put the fan heater in the v8 soft top for 30 mins this morning just to defrost it and warm it up for the 5 min drive to work. The electric probably cost more than the fuel ( well in the case of the v8 I'm not that sure ) but it was worth it 😀

POST MOAR PICS,painted loads of these in the eighties, along with Fiesta Supersports (and Escort mk2,1600 Sports)!!Pretty sure we saw most of the Fiesta Supersports ever built. For the kiddies today,in them days a 10 yr old car was absolutely, utterly rotten thru (if you were lucky). Fake edit;was removing the plastic body kit on a mk1 turbo (wheel arch extensions,front/rear "spoiler" kit)drilling the old (plastic) pop rivets out, went right thru the windscreen washer bottle, lol, tucked behind the N/S front wing, dint say a word about it.....No wonder I dont trust anyone to work on my car, lol. Also, the captive nut and bolt arrangement on them Fiesta Supersports back/front bumper have more than likely been replaced with non-captive nut and bolt....28 years ago . Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Ordered new engine mounts after finding about 10mm of play in them yesterday whilst swapping engines. I reckon two blokes could swap a TD5 or do a clutch in 5/6 hours if they knew what they were doing. Fun!

Jimbob7 and AJC . Very nice!
I've a Mk1 XR2 at the back of my garage in need of some TLC. Owned by me for 24 years and before that was in the family from new. Would love to get it back on the road one day.... Not sure I've the skills though. |
