Hi Clayton, haha, all that power may be missed more so the torque I think.
The engine is noisy as its really an industrial unit, quite thirsty, the choice of gearbox is limited LT95 only 4 speed, LT 85,5 speed but difficult to find a good one and spares are getting rare, R380 costly to convert and not recommended due to the torque of the engine. I was looking at upgrading the turbo which then leads to fitting an intercooler etc , etc but then a 300tdi and R380 came up at a reasonable price so I thought I'd just take it back to standard-ish, it was originally a V8 back in 1989!! |

Over the long weekend (Fri-Sun) the following has been achieved while avoiding the rain
Mounted the towing electrics to the tow bar Reattached the tank strap and the mounting brackets Reattached the rear mud flaps - need news ones, as the current ones are starting the split Replaced the winch wire (lost the grub screw that holds the cable in the hole on the drum) Stone chipped the rear of the chassis were the welding was done 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
