^^ Pete, when I asked my dealer the first time to grease the propshafts during maintenance job, they called me back and said that one of the grease nipples on the front propshaft was missing. But they ordered it from LR and were able to just install it on the propshaft where it was supposed to have been from new. Thereafter were able to properly grease it. So worth asking about this too I guess. Thumbs Up
Eric

Interesting. The TSB concerning missing nipples states very clearly that the whole propshaft should be replaced if this is found during the warranty period, rather than just fitting the missing nipple(s). I am not sure why.

Eric, if the tapped hole for the grease nipple to screw into has been left open to the elements, there will be all sorts of grit and grime that will have entered the hole. Simply screwing a grease nipple into it and pumping it full of grease is only going to push all of that grit into the bearing cups and cause the premature failure of that UJ.

However, as you point out blackwolf, I don't see why they would require the whole propshaft to be replaced, when it's really only the UJ in question that would need replaced.

Jon.

I guess that it is allowing for one of the missing nipples to be the one for the splined joint on the shaft itself.

The splined joints on the props hafts on my 110 don't have nipples and no holes provided for them either ...

Will ask them about it when I pick it up on Monday from the dealer in Penang.
They've had if for almost 4 weeks to replace the clutch slave cylinder ...
