Fuses and connectors can often be loose yes, even the Puma fuses can drop out and have a strip of tame holding them as they are nearly upside down.

We drove to play with our Fergie this afternoon. The 110 served as a perfect viewing platform for my eldest. Drove about a mile and a half on the A414 in the Fergie to give the engine a blast and managed about a 50 car tailback @ 20mph!

Managed to get my Eberspacher up and running, when I bought it the wiring was a bit rustic....so re-routed it and put a fuse for the main power circuit (20amp) next to the main battery!!
Just trying to suss out why it only runs for 10mins or so before it seems to go to sleep?? Oh and also found out my truck as an electronic anti-rust system..........the fuse is pulled on it so it's not currently running, which makes me suspicious....... Need to take some pictures, identify the brand and seek out instructions Looks like to of the electronic patches are mounted onto the ally panel under the drivers seat. Cheers Andy |

Great pic and thanks for sharing - I'm a big fan of those Fergies and keep looking at them with a desire to buy one! Is it a petrol or diesel? Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Surely A Cathode protection system on a car can't work The car is permanently earthed to the battery and insulated from any external earth via the rubber tyre so where are the electrons gonna go? Has made me think about sacrificial metals in key places though... Probably cheaper to just Dinitrol though |

Thanks! She's a 1952 TED 20 - petrol and TVO. The fuel tank has a partition - 1 gallon petrol 7 gallons tractor vaporising oil. You can't buy TVO anymore but it can be made with the right recipe - basically petrol and heating oil. Haven't done it yet.
Lovely looking MF. I like them being kept going, in the same way that Series Is should be kept running. They're living history really. |
