Took mine to the Makgadikgadi Pans for the weekend. Was joined by a few friends with their Defenders and one friend in a Disco2.

Oh...it is not an interristing place, it is a magical place!
Full of history of the biggest ancient "inland sea" that existed to ancient tribes (the same tribes who build the Zimbabwe ruins) who initiated thier kings on Kubu island to the ancient people believing the boababs are trees "that fell out of heaven" and landed with thier branches in the ground and all we see are the roots. |

Yesterday fitted a pair of three LED strobe lights. I chose to mount this pair under the rear fog and reverse light - Still need to do the wiring to make them live.
Today, I attacked the drivers door rust. Removed the bottom section that has rusted in parts and replaced with a new section which was pre-painted and pre-cavity waxed. While playing with the door, I attempted to re-adjust the shut lines of the door - its a little better. So now just the rear drivers passenger door and the back door to attack. Did tip run and was queuing two cars away from a 90 TD5. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

back from a few days away... cruise kit from Tim @ mobile centre, was pretty easy to fit. I would recommend a nanocom or ultraguage to clear fault codes during fitting. I took the white 110 over the plains today to collect a new gas weber bbq, works a treat (the bbq and cruise ). if you are happy picking oem connectors apart and some soldering you will be fine. not sure what it would be like for towing but if you touch the brake or clutch it disengages instantly. I'd certainly recommend the kit. |

Drove to Headcorn aerodrome this evening to support my best friends mum doing a sponsored skydive.
Doing a skydive is a daunting prospect to most people, but when your suffering from MS the step ladder into the plane is a bigger challenge than falling out the plane at 12,000ft so I have massive massive respect for her. Managed to raise £845 to date which is just short of her goal of £1000 so if anyone can spare a few pounds it will make a huge difference to the people it supports. https://www.justgiving.com/Lynn-Meakins/ Click image to enlarge Blue canopy Click image to enlarge Busy car park |
