Brendan on here is your man for those. Regarding wiring if your not going to exceed 10A draw (dash socket max load) across all lighter plugs at one time then you could just tap into the existing one and to the new one then you will have two that are both usable. But just make sure you don't exceed the max draw. If you have items that you want to use at the same time i.e. a 6A draw item and another 6A used totalling 12A then that would be too much in which case the new 12v lighter plug would have to be wired independently fused again at 10A. Most charging items such as Sat Navs or phone chargers use under 2A draw so it maybe worth looking at the first solution. There's also the Illumination that can be tapped into too.

purple and black Tim - and it's fused, I just can't remember on which circuit
I don't understand why people are swapping their 12v sockets to usb or twin usb when you can but usb plugs that fit flush and have either 1a or 1.5a output |

It make more sense to fit a USB bullet in a socket, you have both options! I'd use thinwall automotive. Or do you mean actual diameter and current rating?
EDIT* Sorry should have read your post more through more thorough. 1mm would do with a 16.5A rating easily enough for what you want. Not over kill nor so small it's fiddle to work with. I would also fuse what ever your putting in too unless it is already. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 Last edited by custom90 on 23rd Apr 2013 9:23pm. Edited 1 time in total |
