I bought "Watching the English" ages ago but did'nt get around to reading it, I'll read it next ZeDefender Thumbs Up

I'm re-reading Keith Richard's autobiography "Life" at the moment, an excellent book. So is "Hotel California" by Barney Hoskins, it's about the Laurel Canyon bunch of musicians from the late sixties to the mid seventies. CSN&Y, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, the Eagles, James Taylor et al. Fascinating.

Another recent read was "Racing Through The Dark" David Millars' autobiography, well worth reading, as is "Bad Blood" by Jeremy Whittle" about doping in proffessional cycling.

I was also recommended Haruki Marakami so I've started with one of his easier reads "Kafka on the Shore" Strange, anyone read it?

Total Tecall - Arnold Swarzeneggars autobiography.

From being a kid in Austria, Bodybuilding, property development, movies and politics....He is one determined and dedicated man!!!! All in all a good read, I'm near the end and reading his life in politics. Slightly harder read than the rest of the book.

Just an all round awesome bloke!!!

"I'll be back" Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful!

If I had to relive mine, I might not survive next time Shocked Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

A true heroe, Royal Marine & avid sailor, this is a good book for those that like dramatic campaigns and adventure.

The Dream of Scipio having recently enjoyed Stone's Fall also by Iain Pears. £0.01 plus £2.80 from that tax-avoiding lot. ... and some time ago An Incident of the Fingerpost by the same author. All well-written historical thrillers.

The Day of the Jackal by Frederick Forsyth....
My absolute favorite, and about the 5th time I reread this political thriller, each time new detail pops up. Has also been filmed by Fred Zinnemann, the movie is equally good with a brilliant Edward Fox in the lead role, DVD still available from amazon...)
For the younger generation, story is about the OAS (a French resistance group in post-Algeria crisis period) hiring a contract killer to eliminate President De Gaulle. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
