Yes, Either get some longer screws or make / buy a speaker ring to the rear for the screws to bite into. I would go for longer screws though. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Mud do shallow and deep adaptor rings only about 8 a pair. IIRC 10cm & 13cm. Personally though I think you should be fine with what you have and use longer screws as you say. If the grille overlaps then it doesn't matter it's still flush either way. If the new longer screws don't work drill some new ones.

When it comes to wiring the amp, I have a kenwood kdc bt92, and the alpine 1200 sub, the 'remote on' on the amp connects to? There's 'ant cont / p cont' and 'steering wheel remote input' / 'remote cont' free,

On the wires out the back of the head unit, there's also a blue cable that goes to nowhere (goes into the adapter) but nothing on the cars side...

Have a pic if anybody wants to
Shoot me there email to show them
Exactly what I mean

The 'remote on' has 2 bullet connectors at one end... Looking at the wiring for the head unit, the blue white from the adapter says 'power control' the other blue white spare which is antenna control / power control says 'when using the optional power amplifier... I guess this is the one?

Hi,

Yes the blue white is the correct wire to use. This will tell the amp to turn on when the head unit is powered up. Just finished fitting my sub so will add some pics shortly.

Cheers,
Jon

Make sure you enable the subwoofer output on the head unit (if its an option).

Give me a call if you get stuck.

ethanicus (jon) thank you very! much had a lengthy phone call with him, for some reason my car blew 2 fuses on the amp, eventually got it working... difference is amazing. rears still aren't in, think i need a bigger sub to keep up with the focals tho...

No problem, nothing worse than making a recommendation and then it doesnt work Whistle

Just finished the sub install. It makes so much differnce, not max power load but rounds out the sound of the Focals.

Few images here:

Also added a aux fuse box to support the sub:
