Diff Lock Lever won't engage
Hi All

In the recent snow I could have really done with the diff lock, but when I went to try it the lever would not budge at all.

High and low range shift smoothly but there is less than 1cm of slack in the lever when trying to push it to the left and then nothing at all.

The picture below shows the linkage which I have been spraying with WD40 but hasn't shifted yet. There is small movement at the link where the green arrow is as it takes up the slack, but then no movement between the link and where it goes into the transfer case.

Is there anything else I can be doing to free this up? By the general condition of the Land Rover I don't believe the diff lock has ever been used in the past 3 years by it's previous owner.

It turned out to be determined not to move but got it going now, all with the help of new my patented tool:

Diff lock light also turned on immediately and got it to disengage too.

You beat me to it!
They seize up when not used - but generally a hammer then regular use sorts it out!

You want to patent that quick before a Landrover exec hands it in as his own work!!
