I need to remove the drivers side wiper arm from its spigot but am having difficuly pulling it off.

Have flipped up the cover, undone the nut and tried to pull off but nothing.

Can someone tell me, are they on spines on the spigot or is it held there by pressure from the nut?

Old pre 2007 ones used to have a collar with a gromet screw in it but this arrangement has nothing like that.

Pre-2002 actually, but you're right. Older ones were a free splined fit, but a parallel spline.

The newer ones use a tapered spline held by the nut, as a result it will be a pain to get off. Give it some gentle wiggling via the arm. Just don't snap the shaft off!

I can see the spigot has a very fine spline to it.

Does the circular hole on the arm have a spline pattern to receive it Ie. going to be a Censored to prize apart or is it smooth?

Think they're both splined.

Take the nut off and then put a few drops of 'Plusgas' on the splines. Leave overnight and it will come off with no effort at all. If you don't have 'Plusgas' then a few drops of diesel will also work, but it will take a little longer to penetrate.
