The intercooler has been swapped back to the original and an initial run around the block looks promising, I'll run it like this for a few days and if all is good I'll buy a new bas intercooler.

Still promising you really don't notice gradual power loss until you get it back. It pulls like a train now Ray

If you dont press that button soon, you will be losing a lot sleep, coz you know in the end that its the way to go and the best thing is, you need a new one 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

That sounds right it's only the fact that I've already thrown around £1600 at it in the last two weeks on injectors, map sensor and fitting that's making me think I should wait a week or two just to be sure it's fixed. Ray

That makes a lot of sense Ray But the only downside i can think of is that, if you have " fixed " the problem, then there is no excuse to get a new intercooler ??????? 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Ahh well, that fix is only temporary as it's the standard size intercooler I've put back in as the allisport one had split, so I definitely need a performance one to replace that Ray

On the bottom of page 18 you sort out the right hand capping. You refer to something called stopper. What is that? mine need doing so remembered I'd seen it done in your thread.

Hi Greg, stopper is a very fine body filler, usually used for finishing any pinholes left in the filler surface. After treating the corrosion on my capping it only needed a very light skim of filler so I went with the stopper. Ray
