Glad you're sorted bm52. My radio, bought just before Christmas had version 1 DAB software and there is an update to version 1.02 available software on the Kenwood website. Just follow the instructions carefully. It is fairly simple to do. LANDYWATCH

I take it you guys fitted these to a PUMA front windscreen and it works without the signal being downgraded? The audio shop I have been talking to rates the Hirschman http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/Hirschmann_AU...rial.html, but also fit the new Ford Focus aerial to the sloping front part of the roof. The only other option appears to to be the side window. They believe an external aerial is best.
It's also a shame that the Parrot Asteroid doesn't do DAB, so I am having to buy a DAB adaptor. Grateful for views/advice. |

I fitted the recommended Kenwood DAB aerial on the left hand side of the windscreen. It has performed very well, just a couple of weak reception areas when in SE London. otherwise great with very clear reception and clarity.
Kemwood, if I recall, advise 15cm from the top of the screen and in by 7cm. These measurements, bearing in mind the short Puma windscreen, means the aerial is quite low on the screen and i had to move the tax disc holder. Passengers have not commented on whether the aerial obscures vision so I assume it is all OK. BM52 |

I fitted my Kenwood DAB aerial a little higher than recommended, about 10cm from top, and have excellent reception all over S.Wales. LANDYWATCH

I thought about Hal 2 but I like the normal aerial as I use it like a cats whisker for car parks etc. Comes in quite handy. BM52

It is my 90 in davew's pic above. With the cage and lift and hd springs I don't even think about going in multistorey or overhead barriered car parks! Our blog - http://landytravels.com/ Yorkshire Off Road Club - http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net |

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone had any tips to give. I too have bought the same roof/wing mount DAB+FM aerial and aren't getting great signal. Suspect it could be an earth issue? Did you sand down the underside of the wing for better contact? Or use tinfoil etc as it mentions? Does it matter that the wing is aluminium etc? Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |
