Is there a long term fix for this or a replacement part?

We make new detents with about 15% more spring tension to reduce the chances of it happening again, Dave

Just had this happen to my 2010 110 today, typically as i was running late at the time.

Can the middle section be accessed from the gear lever area or does the cubby need to come out? anyone have a picture of the detent in location that needs to be removed. Just waiting on parts. - thank you Dave. Cheers

Just an update, apparently the gbox can get stuck in 1st gear whilst the lever itself looks to be in neutral.

It happens when stopping abruptly in neutral I am told.

There is a stronger replacement detent spring to avoid this. With advice from Ashcroft faq website page it's easily addressed and fixed.

Mine took around 90mins to sort, most if which was spent removing/replacing trim.

The old detent was fitted flush and looked to have been parallel punched in. It came out very easily.

Certainly a job most could confidently tackle.
