Germany 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Baltic Blue
How do I disable the alarm to change battery?
Okay - p*ss yourselves laughing at this question but how do I disable the battery-backed up alarm so I can change the main battery?
I've done a (probably crap) search and I can't find anything in my (German) handbook and I suspect it should not be commonly known.

PM please?

Cheers
Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

This is TD5 but should be the same.... (should be Laughing )

Your vehicle may be fitted with a battery backed up sounder, which operates as an anti theft siren if the main battery is disconnected. If it is necessary to remove the main battery, it is ESSENTIAL to adopt the following procedure to prevent the alarm from sounding

1) turn the starter switch to "on" and then to "off", then remove the key

2) Disconnect the main battery WITHIN 15 SECONDS (if it is not disconnected within the 15 seconds then the BBUS will sound as soon as the battery terminals are removed)

(Taken from LR4x4 from RAVE)

I've just fitted one of these little Censored and god they are loud Shocked
