My Landy was factory fitted with the light guard access ladder (STC50417) like this one;
I want to put a light guard on the other side to match, the sort of backwards L shape. I've seen plenty of them, but they seem to be painted rather than powder coated like the ladder. Does anyone know if there is indeed a matching guard? Thanks Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

Ahhh, looks like I've sort of found the match, however, it comes as a pair which I don't need.

The pre '02 had a square fog light, so the bottom bit of the guard will be longer.....
I think??? |

All of those "genuine" type guards I've seen have been powder/plastic coated, not painted.

Frankly, given the usual quality of Land Rover powder coating, you'd be better off with a painted one anyway. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Square rear lights were on Td5s too until the 2002 "facelift" which included round fog lights, one piece pressed steel rear door, new dash etc. 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Cheers all, makes sense.
As for being better off painted, maybe, but that doesn't help unless I also take the ladder off and paint it. Masai's is pretty close to it and as they are only down the road, I've asked if I can go and match it up. Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

i have the L shaped (original LR overpaid but still non rusty) one on mine (the one for the round lights/puma); don't waste your money and time (and drilling holes in your car)
My 235/85 AT tires bumped in it from first day; denting the body ripping out the rivnut slowly and deforming the thing. Tried to bend the mounts so it would be more outwards but it needs to come outside of the body like 1 inch before it clears the wheel. That all is if you have a stock wheel carrier which i expect as this lightguard can't be used with an aftermarket wheel carrier (mantec type etc) Now, on the sunny side, i have mine laying around now i am putting a spare wheel carrier so PM me if you want me to throw it in the post for you (beware i'm in Slovakia and you will be paying postage , only) |

Thanks for the advice!
Much appreciated. It was a concern thats now a bigger concern. Possibly why LR don't have the matching one. Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

No, mine is pre facelift, has 2 piece door etc, but all round lights, no square ones....it's a TD5 2001 (51 reg). I guess there was a transition period. Cheers Simon |
