3 amigos appear and stereo cuts...
My 02 Defender Td5 DCPU is not feelin well. Once in a while (2-3 times a day lately) the warning light for TC,ABS & PB lights up in the dash. At the same time the stereo cuts ( resets as when the battery is disconnected..) the stereo comes back, with power that is, after appx 15sec. The warning lights remain.

I've had a look on similar threads here, but can't say I've seen anyone mention the stereo bit...

Anyway, any thoughts on this subject is greatly appreciated Smile

You really need to find out what the fault recorded with the three amigos is to get a better idea of what's happening. The most common cause of the amigos is a faulty wheel speed sensor or faulty harness from the sensor to the ECU, but I have never heard of this having any effect on the stereo!

When you reset the lights, what error code(s) were recorded?

I have not had the error codes read yet. If I turn off the ignition and restart the warning lights are off and back to normal.

Sounds simmilar to what I had....... does it happen when going over bumps or uneven ground?

If so, check all the earth cables- Battery, Chassis (next to battery box and looks like a p-clip) and then on the transfer box.

Good news.
Got the fault codes read....loss of power to ABS...and various other functions... Turned out that one of the screws on the 100A fuse link under the RH seat was loose Smile After tightening it everything is simply perfect Smile A stupid thing, but good news Smile)
Thanks for the help guys. Bow down
