I wanted to keep the heat down in the back but did not want to tint the windows (not my thing). A mate told me about these, I bought them from their website,
http://www.vanstyle.co.uk/shop/land-rover-..._3269.html Fantastic idea and at 110 quid (funny but they have now been reduced in price) were just what I was looking for but they do not fit the newer defenders as 1. The rear window trim is different than earlier models 2. The rear side sliding windows trim is different than earlier models. After over four weeks I have finally got them to agree to refund me my money. They said they would send in a courier to collect them but are now not answering my emails so it all been a bit of an anti climax really. Like I said great idea but not thought out and not very good service. I am still hoping they are going to refund me. Interestingly they are still putting them up on ebay even though they know they won’t fit modern Defenders. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defen...27c358cae6 Last edited by The Boy on 17th Jul 2012 4:00pm. I think the mutt might test them to the point of destruction too.
K9F... A guy I know who used to work at window tinting said he thought the alpine windows might have to come out too, I take it all yours were done in place? Really don't like the idea of drilling rivets out or even pulling rubber seals off ![]() |

I made paper templates first, cut the tint out to match, used a very sudsy mix in a squrty bottle and soaked the glass (spotlessly clean before) and soaked the tint before applying....It could be better in places, but it does the trick
![]() If you're going for a self tint, I can be more specific ![]() |

The film will get scratched if the mutt starts pawing the windows

He'd be ok regarding pawing the windows nose marks would be the only prob, quite well behaved actually, he just might chew something hanging off the windows such as screens or visors.

My local guy removed the rear windows to tint them, did the rear window in situ and failed to do the alpine lights. He said they would look rubbish done without removing as there would be a small untinted bit around the edge. He took them out but said they were such a tight fit that they couldn't fit back in without tearing the film off.
As a compromise he put horizontal lines of black vinyl (the stuff he uses for signwriting on the sides of vans) which sort of reduces solar gain on the back seat, but does look a little peculiar. |

I beg to differ, if you have a really dark tint where people can't see in then they can't see what's in for the nick. Also if you use a ballistics film it will take them a little longer to get in. ![]() 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |
