I beg to differ, if you have a really dark tint where people can't see in then they can't see what's in for the nick. Also if you use a ballistics film it will take them a little longer to get in. Thumbs Up

Sorry Russ I should of said

On a 90 or 110 Station wagon it is not worth the effort

All my previous Defenders have been film tinted

When sold, some people want then, some don't, so easy job to be removed

I wanted them for security, for which they work well, as inside i have the window guards, but did not want it looking obvious and over the top, inviting someone to have a go

Never has the film damaged, due to the guards etc, and can load the rear up against the side's

Well worth the effort, and all fitted without removing any glass

I did a diy tint of the windows of my 300tdi about 7 years ago, using the same method as GREENI. After a couple of years I noticed small bubbling in areas, but the tints are still holding well to this day, though they are in need of replacing as they are faded.

I had tints in the TR90 and the big downside was visibility at night when reversing. John

Why film does not help with security

I think the point being if you can't see inside the vehicle it will 'possibly' deter the oportune thief from stealing any items on view. It being so damn easy to get into a Defender window meshes aren't much cop either in my opinion, just another deterrent. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!
