Thinking of going tomorrow is it worth it
Thinking of going tomorrow is it worth it

for anyone whom has been there today is it worth a 1 hr drive each way and the £30 fee, there is nothing I particuarly want to buy (although Brendan has some bits Id like as do Mobile centre) and I dont want to go off roading just like to window shop DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Well, for me it depends. I pitched up from Warwickshire and had a good day, great weather and the normal stuff on sale and normal entertainment. I guess thats my only complaint, "same old same old" but as long as you are a avid supporter of Landy's then you cant go wrong. Personally, if I was not searching for a bargain (i was) then I would think twice. Perhaps it felt a little bit smaller than normal, maybe due to the initial postponement of the event. Dont know if this helps,,,,,sweatysock Sweatysock

Tomorrow's weather forecast looks pretty good, so hoping for a good turnout for everyones sake.

I'm going along tomorrow with Bro-in law + couple of kiddies... No major purchases planned but I do want a good look at the new range of X-Eng security products.

Bro-in law considering some Alive magic for his Puma I believe. I hope he does, then he'll be driving and I can have a beer or two Thumbs Up Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

Hi Rob, sure we'll bump into each other somewhere along the line.

Looking at the show website it says dogs are fine provided they are kept on a lead at all times Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

Just rolled back in. Caravan away, two trailers snugged away, debris in two 110's to sort out. Now have a few happy hours Big Cry to unload trailers, sort out boxes etc etc Big Cry

Weather was good, stand was dry, apart from one spot which had a vehicle parked over it. Yes both visitor numbers and traders were down, however we did ok Thumbs Up We did have more time to spend talking to people which is important to us.

So despite the doom and gloom merchants the show was NOT a disaster, ok it was not a roaring success, would just say average.

So what will next years show season bring?

My first year as a trader at Billing so I can't compare turnover but I have been to every Billing for the last 12 years as a visitor and helper on the X-Eng stand and this year was definately quieter with less people than previous years, however we (and X-Eng) still found it was 'worthwhile' in terms of money taken, contacts made and the 'exposure' received - it was especially nice to be 'interviewed' by LRO for a future issue (fame at last Mr. Green )

i went on the friday (it always seams better taking a day off work to look at land rovers).

Although smaller and quieter i thought the "atmosphere" was alot better than recent years (sunshine helps!); it was like the show was 10 years ago.; and i thoroughly enjoyed it.

now looking forward to Eastnor

First trip to Billing for me and mrs H, would have been there for longer but dates shifting messed that up.

Missed a few things I wanted to look at but never mind - nice to see all the other landrovers and what can be done to them.

Nice to meet Brendan and thanks for the in-depth info on how to fit my wheel carrier, hopefully the bumperettes will be sorted and available soon so I can get it all done.

Saw some nice leather covered stuff on FCX stand which Mrs H liked so may well end up with some of that stuff.

Went back to get a cb after some lunch and procrastination only to find they had sold out Big Cry so its back to the internet for that! Fortunately the 'show deal' will carry on so all good.

I guess having a bit less time stopped too much idle chatter with some exhibitors, which probably saved a fortune but letting Mrs H loose not such a good idea as she also now has a 'list' of 'improvements' to make as well (and different) to mine, her eye was caught by some of the nice low tuned 90's but we can't justify three land rovers can we now?

So all in all a good day out, passed silverstone on the way back where it looks like there was a Ford show, several pulled over in the lay-bys with bonnets up so maybe some 'tuning' gone on Mr. Green (no broken down LR's though!)

I was admiring your USW as you were driving out Mr H, too far away to call out and only realised it was you when I saw the Westover wheelcover
