Just realised a broken tube in the rear left wheel box – just above the exhaust pipe.
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Could anyone educate me on what this piece of pipe is. Looks like some sort of ventilation? Is it difficult to install a new one? Cheers, |

As Keith says, it's the diesel tank breather .. Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

I use Brit Car all the time for parts. Never a problem but can take a while to send as they supply a lot of genuine parts that have to be ordered.

Just buy a bit of fuel pipe that is the correct diameter, and use a jubilee clip to join it to the original rigid section, that has the one way valve.

I joined mine to length nylon fuel line and ran it along the top of the chassis rail to the engine area and put it up high against the firewall then joined the valve to the end of it. When you wish to bleed the fuel system just blow a bit of compressed air down the tube and it will prime the system for you.

And move the pipe behind the plastic plate.
There is a recall for it. In that positiin you can have water/dirty ingress inside the tank and future problem with the water up tu damage the common rail high pressure pump and injectors. Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition IID Pro MV License |
