I have a problem with the passenger door on my 110, I have water leaking from the bottom of the door card which ends up under the carpets/mats.
I have taken the door card off and the membrane is perfect and sealed. I taped all round the edge to make 100% sure it was sealed. Shut the door and blasted with the hose but could not find where the water was coming from. Anybody got any pointers as to where to look for the fault, I think the problem is around the window somewhere but I can't pinpoint it. I should add that this door has had work done on it by the dealer so I am sure it is something that has not been put back correctly. Maybe process number 7.2 from the Water Ingress Manual, a few other door leaks noted also!
http://www.zee-rover.nl/downloads/water-ingress-manual.pdf I keep losing a link to the Puma water ingress manual might be worth a look if you can find it anywhere! Edit - here it is https://www.defender2.net/gallery/albums/u...cedure.pdf Last edited by Zagato on 25th Apr 2012 6:14am. Edited 1 time in total |

Could be
Only confusing thing is the water is between the inner membrane and card but ........ it is probably finding the path of least resistance. Couple of thoughts
1 - Quite a lot of people report internal condensation and or leaks that start on the roof - i wonder if this may run down the internal window? 2 - You could use duct tape over all the affected area (ie joins, seals etc) and remove a strip periodically until you can detect the leak again S |

That is the LR cat hiding behind the membrane. Hammer a bit the door and solve the problem. Puma 110" SW

This problem annoyed me and gave mrs ravers good opportunity to nag nag nag. took it to the stealers, who, ahem 'fixed' the problem until it rained the next day. ''
I remembered when i picked up our new defender that the door seals often fell out, wife would nag, and i'd put them back in. one day i glued the sods in. that was the problem, i'd glued the seals to far back (only mm's) from the front pillars (windscreen). the fix was to remove them, clean and seal in place with silicone. the dealers apparently liked it so much they offered to remove and re do the job themselves '' i told them to rod off. since the seals often fall out, it may be worth a try, good luck Ravers |

Thought I had at the weekend Hosed the door glass only, opened the door and a torrent of water ran out Filled the gap between the outer glass seal and the door with Dum Dum and the leak has virtually gone. Dealer did some work on this door last year and my guess is it is that work that has caused the problem. In for 3 year service and MOT on Monday and also this problem. As the warranty is just about to finish they can either fix it (plus the window that does not fit properly anymore) or replace the door.
