Puma 2.4 Remap
Hi All,

I have read various reports on how good certain remaps are as supplied from the various companies. I am now looking into this although I am worried about my warranty.
I am basically looking for an improvement in performance when towing a heavy off road caravan which will then hopefully mean better fuel consumption.
I am not looking at traveling at high speeds etc.

What have you used and what is recomended?

Thank you.

Careful Bruce, you start down this road, next thing you know you will be ordering a hybrid turbo Rolling with laughter

On a more serious note, as you know I have a BAS remap and I am very happy. Thumbs Up --

Bruce, if TorqTune just around the corner from you, I'd be very tempted to go with him, esp if he agrees to reset the map to original before dealer visits.

On another note, he quoted me R5k for a remap of my Saab, so his prices seem fair. --

No response from any of the usual suppliers, so perhaps its a very good idea to go local.

Thanks for the replies.

I wouldn't do a remap without doing the intercooler as well, especially in our climate.

I have a BAS remap with the OEM intercooler, no issues so far. But then again I do drive with a beady eye on the EGT monitor and the alarm is set at 650C. Thumbs Up --

To be honest I have kind of lost interest in this now mainly due to the lack of response from suppliers I have emailed.
Should something go wrong I would like to know that these guys will get back to me asap, but their response times are slow/non existant so far.

Thanks for the replies anyway.

I operate in temperatures over 50c and my remap has not been a problem. I made this quite clear to my tuner how the vehicle would be used. I do not have a aftermarket intercooler. The very fact that the EGR is shut will increase EGT temperatures, however this will be within tolerence. Remember for some time there where no EGR systems. You have a good choice from site sponsers Alive/ Bas. Very Happy

Hi Bruce,

Apologies for the delay in my response, but I had been away on holiday last week, and the guys here had forwarded your email onto me. I've not had good web access so I've come back to work today with a bulging mailbox! Shocked

Please be assured, I'll send you a comprehensive reply as soon as I can.

Best Regards,

Gary.

I've a re-map from Alive and it has made towing a caravan fantastic. So much easier, more like when I had a car. Couldn't go back to the LR map now. And it's more economical.
