Key and transceiver
Hello,
just a quick question about the key... to know if it contains any sensible parts (water, dust, mud, ...)
Below we can see the key on one side, and the remote for alarm on the other side.

---> where is the anti-start transceiver located? within the key, or in the remote?

Thanks for help.
Julien.

The plip (remote for alarm) is the transmitter for the transducer coil mounted in the steering column for the passive immobiliser on the 10AS module. If you dont have the plip near the ignition when running, then the passive immobiliser will stop the engine after a few minutes by not sending a mobilisation signal to the EMS. If you lose the plip or it fails then that is what the EKA code is for. Thumbs Up

Thanks!
Another question: I received 2 codes with my defender:
- key code
- immobilization code.
---> which one to use the day my plip has trouble?

Use the immobilization code first........ if that doesn't work then try the Key code. Whistle

But if the “plip” is an integral part of the key, what’s the procedure for EKA (Emergency Key Access) when the manual states: “Remove the remote control from the key ring and keep it well away from the starter switch”?
