Small compressors
I am have recently been looking at 12v compressors single piston type and mainly on Devon 4x4 (But also site sponsors) And I have came across many makes and models. I won't be considering Britpart though. Rolling Eyes However I am interested to know what your thoughts feelings and recommendations and which brand would you be advise most? Looking in the £100 - £170 bracket and mostly considering ARB and Warn currently but open to suggestions. Thumbs Up

heard of the T max range the price is very very good. I wonder where it would be best mounted (if it can) rather than just having it portable.

I have a T Max which I intend to mount at in the rear wheel arch, feeding 3 PCL connectors dotted around the truck.

Planning to use a pressure sensitive relay from Matt Savage and have it switched from the rear. Turn it on, system pressurizes and then when a PCL accessory is plugged in the relay triggers the pump again. It will take a little longer than a system with a tank but much simplier. 2002 Defender 110 DC

Sounds like a plan. What about the muck dirt and water under there?

I would box the compressor in using ally sheet, extending the breather into the rear of the pick up bed.

The piping would be simple push fit PVC tubing, PCL's placed by each rear door and the back. 2002 Defender 110 DC

Sounds a good idea would you need some sort of venting for heat dissipation?

for filling tyres then the bog standard 20 quid job works fine. Takes a bit longer to fill up but not £100+ longer.

If I were going to be using it for long periods then yes, but I don't envisage using it for more than a few minutes at a time. Perhaps a louvre on the back of the casing if it becomes a problem.

As for the cheaper ones I totally agree - I had a £3.99 from a garage job last time we were in Morocco and it inflated my tyre back to road pressure quicker than a couple of £100 truckair compressors. Mine didn't melt like those either! 2002 Defender 110 DC

My opinion here http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic7878-30.html

get a CO2 bottle or put a airco compressor conversion if you dont have airco.

just my 2 cents
