Water Purification
Hi,

We have a trip coming up and I think I am going to take my own water purification equipment. Has ayone had experience of doing this?

I have a few ideas such as a lifesaver bottle but currently thinking of an Aquamara Frontier Pro for filtering and a Steripen although the reviews seem to be all over the place. From internet research the Steripen Opti looks suitable.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks,

Steve

I went to Norway for two weeks kayaking, we dident stay in campsites, we wild camped, so we took iodine drops and put this into river water (high up moutain rivers) and the other drops to clear the water and get rid of the iodine.

Makes the water taste crap, but on the plus side, none of us were bad all holiday.

You can now buy purification kits, MSR make very good kit, reccomend there kit any day.

we cycled round the world for 6 yrs and used a kaytadyne filter - its the bees knees but not cheep! 100% recommend it and we drank about 8lts a day each - its a lot of pumping,. but better than the alternative! Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

Hi Everyone, thanks for your replies.

We are going to Botswana/Namibia, the vehicle will have its own water tank but I don't want to take any risks with the water and spoil the trip.
