I went to Norway for two weeks kayaking, we dident stay in campsites, we wild camped, so we took iodine drops and put this into river water (high up moutain rivers) and the other drops to clear the water and get rid of the iodine.
Makes the water taste crap, but on the plus side, none of us were bad all holiday. You can now buy purification kits, MSR make very good kit, reccomend there kit any day. http://cascadedesigns.com/msr/water-treatm...n/category |

we cycled round the world for 6 yrs and used a kaytadyne filter - its the bees knees but not cheep! 100% recommend it and we drank about 8lts a day each - its a lot of pumping,. but better than the alternative!
