Process of elimination:-
If vehicle now lists to the Left side then this means ?? suspension height has been altered. [ Lowered on Left or Increased on Right ]. Steering wheel - no effect on suspension height Steering damper -no effect on suspension height Wheel spacer -no effect on suspension height Shock Absorbers - Rear can be changed without disturbing springs etc: FRONT cannot be changed without partially dismantling suspension. If the vehicle was alright before these changes then check the front suspension and check that the springs are correctly positioned - measure heights etc: LANDYWATCH Neighbourhood Watch for Land Rover Owners http://www.landywatch.co.uk/smf2/index.php |

mines fine they use to fit different length springs to td5s etc to allow for driver weight but they've stopped. Check your spring colours and see if there the same, may have put the wrong ones on?

might be worth checking the top swivel bearing as well.
Also - do you have a binding front caliper? BM52 |

I had that problem on my 90 Td5 a few years ago...
I had replaced the original steering damper (as it was leaking) for a DeCarbon gas shock ... Terrible! Couldn't keep the car straight! Removed it and replaced it for an oem one and all was fine ... According to the poster = everything was OK before the modifications, and the vehicle is now leaning to the Left when stationary and viewed from behind. So I would presume changing the Shocks - probably one of the front ones has upset the geometry as you would have to partially dismantle the front suspension to do this. LANDYWATCH

Road camber...that's classic, but I think you can tell if it's road camber or something internal once you drive it.
I do agree by the process of elimination, the cause for the truck leaning to the left must be either hi/right or lo/left suspension. And yes rear shocks are exchanged without removing the springs. So most likely one of the front front spring must be set wrong. Here is my next question, What can you possibly do wrong putting on one of the front spring while exchange shock damper to have the offset, yet the truck still can be driven for the past 500 miles only with a significant annoying left drift? |

Could one of the springs not be seated properly, particularly on the rear? Or if the front springs are handed, have they perhaps been mixed up and fitted on the wrong sides? Darren

Again the rear shock was replaced while the springs attached, and front shocks were replaced one at a time. So, couldn't been mixed up.
One of the front spring not seated correct is a possible cause, have any one on here have replaced shock themselves know how a front spring could have seated wrong? |

One other thought - Was a coil spring compressor used on the front springs???? and a very stupid question, but you never know - was it removed?? LANDYWATCH

Do you mean was the spring even put back after removal? If that's the case, yes the spring in back in there. As of spring compresser, being mechanical challenged I don't know what it is?
