How does the Hawkeye tool stack up against this lot?

Really want to be able to get as much diagnostic information for when faults occur but would be nice to have some general information like current fuel consumption etc, however I don't want to sacrifice not being able to see all possible faults in favour of knowing how much fuel I am drinking Very Happy Hope that makes sense.

The scangauge allows the user to set it up for fuel use etc. It shows MPG/MPL and LPH, L/100km etc. The ultra gauge I have on order seems to do the same as the scangauge in that it is a gauge tool that allows some simple DTC access to generic DTC's and allowing the MIL light to be switched off. These tools will do what you are after in respect to fuel use but are not really diagnostic tools. Unfortunately you need a dedicated LR system to be able to really cover all the module access needed to diagnose and highlight problems. The only way to do everything you are after is to have two tools, a gauge tool and a diagnostic tool. Thumbs Up

I did have a Hawkeye but sold it soon after I received it as the nanocom was the better tool. I do beleive however that the newer hawkeye tools offer more access than the one I originally purchased. Hopefully someone will do a write up on their hawkeye and post it up on here to allow you too see it's functions.

How did the Ultra gauge get on Lorryman100. Anyone else get one of these and can you buy here in the uk or is it a US only order?

2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Alpine White
I own a Scangauge with latest firmware and I'm very happy about it.

I'm a little confused about the difference between Tested and Untested DTC's.

Tested DTC's are errors that illuminate the yellow light on the dash and Untested DTC's are minor problem error that can be self erased after various on/off/running cycle ?

How to use the Scangauge to read pending error that does not illuminate the yellow light ?

Thanking in advance for any information!

Brian
thanks for the write up

I have a scan gauge 2 I brought off Glynn it is indeed an excellent gadget, I allways look forward to your posts as it is clear you fully understand a bit of our vehicles I havnt got the slightest clue about, I could hardly work my casio FX82 when I did my GCSEs so your posts are invaluable to people like me, I just live in the vain hope that my Landy wont have an engine breakdown in the time I own it , I plan to keep it until I cant drive anymore so an unlikely hope. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy
