Thanks. Tow bar wiring sounds like a good lead as all the wires are hidden away at the back there. I'll give it ago.

Worth checking out the contacts in the starter. Getting the starter off and on is a little bit stretching, but changing the contacts is pretty straightforward.

I had a similar problem twice. Once it was the battery in the keyfob. The other was oil in the ECU.
