It was tuned, with a larger intercooler. But this was removed (due to clutch wear) before the fault occurred.

All injectors have been tested and returned to me, all tested okay. So it appears this might just be a defect with the pistons themselves? I’ve heard many stories of no3 piston cracking.

Are the Lyme pistons different to the OEM ones? Are they any less likely to crack?
I think a full rebuild is the best option. Luckily there are no markings on the walls.

For information the result here is a cracked piston. I’m waiting to hear about the injectors, but it’s suspected a faulty injector caused this.
