If only towing locally and just picking up and dropping of plant , machinery etc. no tachograph is required.
The way I see that is if the customer picks up the plant- so they rent the plant, ... |

But surely Recovery is only when the vehicle is being recovered from place of breakdown? Where this was from my farm (off public highway) to the garage.

I was under the impression it could be exempt if operating less than 100km from base
Isn't that for 'Recovery', which only covers to the 'nearest safe place'? Where this was actually 'Transporting' ... |

Otter-spotter,
Just make sure that they are insuring it as a 'Commercial vehicle', not as a normal pre-2011 (think that is when they changed) 110 station wagon which is classified as a 'car'.
