Steering wheel question
Hello,
Is there a way to tell whether my steering wheel is 36 or 48 spines without removing it?
The part number reads NTC3633 which according to google results points to a ranger roger classic.
I have tried to wrestle with it and can’t seem to take it off either.
Is there anything like a simple job on those cars?!?!

Are the two holes next to the shaft threaded? If so make a puller with a flat bar and a central bolt to screw against the shaft.
I have one for series 111 steering wheel somewhere

Looks like 48 spline from the part number.

You’ll need a puller easy to make as above or just maybe leave the nut on and give it a proper tug.

Nut should come of with reasonable force, getting the wheel off requires a puller, like others I made one. Once the nut is off splines can be counted. Good luck!

Worth applying some release agent as well- plus gas or similar and let it soak for a few days!

That looks very much the same wheel as my TD5, which is a 36 spine Thumbs Up Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I bought a £10 puller tool on eBay for that purpose, and managed to take it out fairly easily. I am happy I did as it turns out to be an early TD5 SW and indeed came as a 36 splines.

Now off to buy myself a nice replacement wheel… pics to follow
