Wiper blades
Can anyone recommend a good set of aftermarket front wiper blades for the new Defender?

Mine are juddering across the screen on the slower "intermittent" setting after only 5,000 miles, it happens after the hot weather last week.

Land Rover want £70 for a pair, which seems somewhat excessive.

Bosch Aerotwin 22” blades fit with a small modification to the clip to clear the washer jet housing.

Part number AP22U. About £22 a pair.

Thank you, that sounds a lot more reasonable.

Apparently "not currently available from Bosch. No other options except Genuine LR"

Oh, and Britpart ☹️

These didn't work, they fit on okay but both wipers don't clear a patch of screen at the right hand side, as if the rubber blade is lifting off the glass.

l will update this, because it might save you £50 when you need new wiper blades.

The LR ones are £70 for a pair.

l tried two alternatives, both German manufacturers and neither worked properly. lt's as if Land Rover designed it so only theirs will work properly.

The spring steel arms on the LR blades are much stronger and the pivot has more movement.

Anyhow, if you buy the ALCA branded wipers for Defender L663 the rubber blade is the same. You can take one of the plastic ends off your original wiper blades and insert the ALCA rubber

After that it works perfectly for a total of £20.

On the inside of one of the plastic end caps there's two tiny plastic tabs you have to remove. And the ALCA blades need to be trimmed in length around 1cm.

Thanks very much
