It’s not uncommon for the VCV to be faulty, I have changed mine 4 times over the years and 1 of them was faulty within 200 miles, change the MAF and MAP they are not expensive, cleaning doesn’t always work. Check all relays are fully seated and the connections in good order (under seat) there is also another connection on the dash binnacle which can give problems 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

Thank you bear100, really appreciate your answer. I’ve ordered a new map, I’ll order a mas today together with another valve. I really think I’m in the right area as the previous symptoms of power loss went. Just replaced with new symptoms. 😂 You think faulty replacement valve over the learning being necessary? Are the relays you talk of in the battery seat box? Thanks again!

It’s not necessary to relearn your VCV I never have, it relearns itself after a few miles, to be honest I have never noticed any difference.
Yeah the relays are under the drivers seat, very very common to have issues with them working loose and bad connections. Hope it helps 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8 2010 110 XS Utility 2.4TDCI 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 (gone) 2007 Discovery HSE TDV6 (gone) 1993 110 csw 200 tdi (gone) 1994 90 HT 300 tdi (gone) 1994 discovery 300tdi (gone) 90 hybrid 3.5 v8 (gone) Range rover bobtail 3.5 v8 (gone) |

Sensors and (another) new valve ordered. I’ll look at the relays before they arrive. Thank you once again.

Would suggest this is part of your problem. Have a look at this thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic85644.html Pages 2 and 3 have supplier details on it. Note PF Jones are not genuine > 110 XS Double Cab |

Thank you so much Hank. This really does sound like my problem. I have now got a denso part arriving later from a specialist. I have everything crossed, so does my bank! 😂😬

So… Changed the valve again. It now won’t even start, just cranks over and over. Every time the valve is changed symptoms change radically.

UPDATE… Decided to swap out the new DENSO valve for the second (faulty) valve as I knew the car at least started with that valve. It fired straight up. So I’m guessing I’ve been very very unlucky and the new DENSO part was also a complete failed part? Any thoughts? 😬

Many of those Denso labeled sensors are made who knows where in china. I would just give it back and claim your money. Puma 110" SW
