I have a 2008 Puma and a 2011 Puma and I find them both very quiet engine wise-especially compared to a tdi. I feel no need for a noise suppressant in the engine compartment. I have had 5-6 hour journeys and felt very fresh at the end. I can talk to the Mrs. in the front passenger seat and the two daughters in the middle seats.I hear more tyre noise than I do engine noise. What are you guys comparing noise levels in the Puma to? 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

The autocar review says it's more planted than the 2.4 . I thought it was just an engine change . Anyone know if the suspension been reworked ? 110 HT TD5 - 110 XS SW Puma

Indicators must be an optional extra on this model. Definately worth getting if you are going to overtake like the driver in the video. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

I thought it was bluddy quiet in places! Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. And I thought mine were quiet! They seemed to have really nailed engine noise with this one. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

The more you reduce the engine sound more transmission noise will be heard and a hell more rattles.

They seem to spend a rather disturbing amount of time on the wrong side of the road in that video, including some quite significant bends where it looks as though visibility is impaired. Given that they are clearly on open public roads (Scotland I suspect), I am not sure that it is very sensible. Horrible wheels on the white one! Yuk! |
