Wyvern, they're not 255x85 are they? I didn't think you could get KO2's in that size? James

No spacers as Sawtooths are 20mm OS. Too much OS and the tyres will rub on your spring towers (110/130 only). Suspension lift is roughly 50mm in the back and probably 35mm front. m

How are the Toyo tyres working out? I’m a 255/85/16 convert since 2015, need to find competitive priced tyres over BFG offerings! Sandy |

Click image to enlarge I've had Toyos on mine for about 8k now. I think they'll go until about 25k before needing replacement. I'd have the same again, they do everything they're supposed to, like any tyre really. I'd say they're quite soft rubber, but wear evenly, grip well enough in the rain and snow and cope with muddy fields. |

Yeah getting on great with them, done about 5k with them so far and not even looking asif theyve worn abit yet! Done exactly what i want them to and wouldnt be able to justify the extra cost for BFG’s really!! |

Interesting. I've run BFG KMs on both my vehicles for the last 20 years, and the first set (of original pattern KM) did 100,000 miles on my Disco 2 with enough tread to be usable off-road still when I replaced them. Although as the KM has evolved the compound has become softer and they therefore wear out quicker I still get at least 50k miles out of a set then take them off a little over half worn but it saleable condition. It makes the price of KMs, which has always been high but has recently rocketed, rather less unappetising knowing they still last more than twice as long as the competition. |

I've always had MT tyres, various makes, they've never seen more than 30k per set and by that stage there's usually one with a slow puncture and at least one with no corners left.
My first set of BFG Mt's lasted about 25k on a 110, this was over twenty years ago so they may well be different now. The Landrovers do seem to wear them evenly though, unlike Jeeps I've had which don't. Perhaps I'm hard on tyres, the brakes don't seem to go very far either! Anyway, I like the Toyos, but would also go for a set of BFG's if the funds allowed, but if both sets were the same price, I'd take the Toyos. I had a part worn set of old pattern BFG's on my old 110 which stayed on the car for around 20k, but they weren't very nice, particularly in the wet. |

So after 10 years good service it’s time to change my 265/75r16 Goodyear wrangler duratrac’s.
I bit the bullet and going for BFG KM3 255/85r16’s. Five of them are a significant outlay , but what the hell, at 4-6k miles per year they should last 10 years as well and I drive mostly on country lanes full of potholes or B roads. They are going on my 2013 2.2 110 7 seat XS with factory 16 inch sawtooths. No winch but I do tow my penman on the odd occasion. I will have them balanced by a good experienced fitter using weights, and will order some small, valve insertable, dynabeads (8oz per wheel), ready to deploy once the tyre fitting lube is dry if they are not perfectly balanced or as they age and balance is compromised. So the question.. what pressure front and rear should I go for.? Currently run 28 psi front and 32 psi rear on the 265/75r16s. |

Little bump,
Having the 255/85r16 BFG KM3’s fitted tomorrow, so any advice on tyre pressure for front and rear tyres would be appreciated as per above post. |

In normal use I run mine at 30 front 36 rear, that's on a winch-equipped double-cab running at around 2.75 tonnes. Those pressures give a nice even wear pattern.
