My 110 seats (original) don’t have brackets there. Just on the C pillar.

Thanks LA. How do you stop your seats from folding forwards?
Mine is a 1999 TD5 maybe the C-Pillar catch came later? 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

The only catch I have is down towards the bottom of the sear base (has a sliding catch to release the seats)
This sliding catch stops the seat tipping forwards, but I have nothing to stop the rear back rest part of seat folding forwards. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Hello i think that catch locks the two seats together when up 60/40 and the one down the bottom should tip them.

If you look at this add. He is selling the retainers that I have on the Cpost and no clips on the two parts of the seat https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic86511.html |

Yes exactly that second picture is what I had on the 1999 which i retrofitted to my DCPU which normally has the rear seats fixed mounted with a bracket on each side giving you no access.
I had to make two brackets to secure the back side of these latching brackets. Without them you would not have a lot of resistance to anything heavy sliding forward |

Cheers chaps. I dont have that style seat back locking on mine. My seats are all locked at the bottom. Maybe due to being 33/33/33 seats.
However, I have it sussed. I remember two things. 1st - I had a set of seats in the loft - (dont we all) so I compared seat locking mechanisms and noticed its the same as the new seats I have and that there should be an extra pin/bolt for the catch to lock on to. 2nd - I had a bag of bits from the seller of the seats and a quick rummage revealed some spare / new pins/bolts Turns out the fasbric covers a threaded insert. After I found this and careful use of a sharp knife I now have (circled in blue) The seat backs now lock in position! Maybe tomorrows job is to swap the seats over. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
